La décoche avec un longbow  -  par Sigroune

Lors du concours à Tremolat, il a - encore une fois - été question de la décoche avec un longbow. J'ai donc promis au vice-président de la FFTL de chercher dans les "Book of Rules" précédents pour comprendre d'où viennent les différences dans l'interprétation du règlement.

La première traduction que j'ai entrepris était celle du Book of Rules 2005. Je ne pense pas que quelqu'un ait reçu la traduction, car j'avais à peine fini le travail fin 2006, quand l'édition 2007 est paru qui comportait de très nombreux changements dans les statuts (p.ex. Siège en Suisse). C'est lors de ces changements que la description de décoche avec un longbow a changé.

En 2005 le règlement stipulait qu'une fois encoché l'index doit toucher le nock-set et que la position du doigt ne doit pas être modifié au cours d'une compétition.

Depuis l'édition 2007 le texte dit :

L’arc doit être tiré avec une décoche “méditerranéenne”. En cas de déformation physique ou handicap, des dispositions spécifiques seront prises.

En 2017 la catégorie recurve traditionnel (TR) a été ajoutée au règlement. Il y a deux différences dans la façon de tirer entre longbow et recurve traditionnel. 1) Des aménagements en cas d'infirmité de la main ne sont pas prévu pour les recurves traditionnels. 2) Bien que la décoche soit “méditerranéenne“ dans les deux catégories, seul en TR le changement de la main sur le visage (face walking) est expressément interdit.

2017 Article IV E Longbow

f. Only one nocking point shall be allowed on the string, …

IFAA 2017 Article IV E 9 Traditional Recurve bow

h. The bow must be shot with the “Mediterranean“ loose. A finger tab or glove is permitted.

i. Face walking is not permitted.
